Job Description:

The MiLB Associates Program offers an immersive baseball leadership experience to post-graduate students, enhancing their understanding of Minor League Baseball operations through a valuable, hands-on opportunity with the league office and our clubs. This paid internship program begins with orientation in January and concludes with a team project presentation and attendance at the Baseball Winter Meetings in December. The goal of this program is to prepare entry-level professionals for a career in sports, especially Minor League Baseball. During this year-long program, Associates will gain an in-depth understanding of the department in which they are assigned and exposure to all other aspects of Minor League Baseball.

The Associate, Creative Design will produce engaging design solutions with high visual impact. This position will work with a variety of departments, including Brand Development, Social, Marketing, and Digital on amplification of the MiLB brand. This role will be a balance of working with team-specific templated assets, as well as projects that involve complete creative control. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, willing to have fun, and want to create awesome designs. This is a great opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow his or her professional design portfolio.

Essential Functions:

  • Thinking creatively and developing new design concepts to promote MiLB's 'It's Fun to be a Fan'/ 'Es Divertido Ser un Fan'
  • Update and customize style guides for internal and external distribution
  • Amplify content being used on social platforms to further engage fans
  • Work inter-departmentally to ensure consistent brand messaging
  • Actively participate in all MiLB Associates Program activities and projects
  • Perform other departmental and company-wide tasks and projects as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area of study
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas
  • Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and video editing a plus

Skills & Attributes:

  • Service-orientation, organizational and oral and written communication skills required
  • Professionalism regarding project time, costs and deadlines

Additional Notes:

  • Must be able to be present in St. Petersburg, Florida for duration of 2019 MiLB Associates Program (January 14, 2019 to December 20, 2019)
  • Must be available to travel to the Baseball Winter Meetings
  • Must be physically present at work location during required business hours
  • Professional office environment; this position uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Primarily sedentary role; however, some filing required including the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool or lift up to 40 pounds as necessary
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening and social security verification
